This district is often called the Wild West of Belize. The landscape is covered with jungle and woven with rivers. The lush area is also peppered with Mayan ruins, ranging from small, tree-covered hills to massive, magnificent temples that visitors can ascend to peer across the top of the jungle canopy.
In addition to their temples, the Mayans left traces of their age-old rituals in caves all around the region. There is no adventure more thrilling than exploring a dark cavern, only to come across artifacts and skeletons from rituals held more than 1,000 years ago.
This Life Time journey takes us to the heart of some of the most enviable surroundings on earth, at once beautiful, serene and spiritual: the jungles of Belize. Perfect for yoga, fitness and spa experiences.
The journey takes place in the Cayo District of Belize where the Mayan writing, or glyphs, were discovered and the richness of this advanced jungle civilization has recently come to light. You'll have the chance to experience one of the Mayans' most famed pyramids and lose yourself both mentally and physically to this powerful setting.
In between classes in various settings, you'll have the chance to learn more about the rich heritage of Belize, experience unique active adventures (such as cave tubing, ziplining and others) or just enjoy the majestic sounds and surroundings of lush jungle life.
